Answers about scans, citations, visibility tools, reporting outputs and plan differences.

Getting Started
What is CiteWorth?
CiteWorth is an AI visibility and evidence platform. It shows what answer engines cite, helps turn that evidence into work, and records what changed afterwards.
What is AI citation monitoring?
AI citation monitoring shows whether an engine attributes your site as a source. A mention is when your brand appears in an answer. A citation is an engine-attributed source/reference. They are not the same. CiteWorth tracks AI answers, mentions and citations as distinct evidence.
What is a Prompt?
A Prompt is a tracked question you monitor across included named AI engines. Plan limits are counted in tracked Prompts. A Prompt × Engine observation is one Prompt checked on one included engine.
What does CiteWorth monitor?
CiteWorth monitors AI answers, mentions and citations as distinct evidence, plus the site evidence underneath those results. A mention is not a citation.
Which AI engines are included?
Included named AI engines are a plan entitlement, not the size of CiteWorth’s wider evidence network. Free includes ChatGPT Search — OpenAI. Pro includes ChatGPT Search — OpenAI, Perplexity, and Gemini — Google. Agency includes those plus Grok — xAI and Claude — Anthropic. Enterprise is a contractual accepted subset and does not automatically inherit Agency. Claude is part of the Agency design; live runnable access follows runtime acceptance. CiteWorth works across a broader AI, search and evidence network, with plan-specific included AI engines.
Do I need technical skills?
No. CiteWorth is built for operators, marketers, and founders who need clarity without digging through raw technical output.
How long does a scan take?
Most scans complete in under two minutes. Larger Prompt sets or broader engine coverage may take longer.
02
Citations & Competitors
How often should I run scans?
Run scans often enough to track meaningful change. Faster-moving categories may justify more frequent checks, while slower markets can be reviewed less often.
What's a "gap" and how do I fix it?
A gap is a Prompt where AI engines could plausibly surface your site but do not. CiteWorth helps you spot those misses so you can improve the right pages or create better supporting content.
Can I track competitor citations?
Yes. CiteWorth can compare how often AI engines surface competitor domains against your site across relevant Prompts.
03
Meta Snapshot & Audits
What is Meta Snapshot?
Meta Snapshot inspects what crawlers and answer engines can parse from a page, including HTML, meta tags, headings, and schema.
What's the difference between Fetch and Render modes?
Fetch shows what is returned directly from the server. Render shows what appears after JavaScript runs in the browser. Fetch is the default starting point; Render is mainly diagnostic.
Why do Meta Snapshot results change between runs?
Results can change because of caching, geo-routing, A/B testing, bot protection, or live page changes. Reviewing runs over time helps you see whether the page output is stable or inconsistent.
What should I fix first after a crawl?
Start with non-200 status codes, unintended noindex tags, missing canonicals, missing H1 or language tags, and broken internal links.
04
Reporting & Follow-up
What evidence do I get?
CiteWorth records page and crawl outputs that help you review what was visible at a given point in time. Reporting depth and output options vary by plan.
How does Draft Preview work?
Draft Preview lets you check draft or staging URLs before they go live, so you can catch issues such as missing meta tags or broken canonicals before launch.
What does 'Signed off' mean?
Signing off marks a chosen result as your reference point for later comparison, helping you review what changed after subsequent work.
What can CiteWorth prove — and what can't it?
CiteWorth can show what was visible to crawlers or answer engines at a specific point in time and how results changed between runs. It cannot guarantee future citations or control how external engines choose sources.
05
Plans & Billing
What plans do you offer?
CiteWorth offers Free, Pro, Agency, and Enterprise. Enterprise is custom and uses Contact Sales. It does not automatically inherit Agency entitlements.
What are Credits?
Credits are CiteWorth commercial units for completed eligible actions. They are not AI tokens, pounds, or a promise that every action costs one whole Credit. Free includes 15 welcome Credits. Pro includes 50 Credits per month. Agency includes 200 Credits per month.
Are Credits the same as tokens?
No. Credits are not tokens.
What does a Standard Site Scan cost?
5 Credits.
What does a Deep Site Scan cost?
15 Credits.
What is Content Studio?
Content Studio is included with Agency. It turns CiteWorth evidence into structured content work. There is no separate published per-generation Credit price.
What is AI Share of Voice?
Share of Voice compares how often answer engines reference you against the competitor domains you track, Prompt by Prompt.
What does Agency include?
Agency includes 10 sites, 100 tracked Prompts, 5 included named AI engines, 200 Credits per month, Fix Assist, Cases, Content Studio, Portfolio, and shareable/white-label reporting. Claude is part of that five-engine design; live runnable access follows runtime acceptance.
How does Enterprise work?
Enterprise is custom capacity and commercial terms. Contact Sales. It does not automatically include Agency entitlements, engines, or Credits.
How does Prompt × Engine charging work?
Selecting Prompts and engines can create one observation per Prompt × Engine pair. CiteWorth reserves a maximum before a run and settles completed work afterwards. Unused reservation is not kept as a charge. Exact live reservation figures are shown in-product when that runtime is accepted.
Can I export data?
Yes, depending on plan. Free includes watermarked reporting. Pro adds CSV and PDF exports without watermarks. Agency adds shareable and white-label reporting.
Is this guaranteed?
No. CiteWorth helps you understand current visibility and track change over time, but it cannot guarantee how external AI engines will rank or cite sources.
Is my data private?
Yes. CiteWorth stores your URLs, scan results, and related workspace data for your account. We do not share it or use it for training.
Can I use my own OpenAI API key?
Yes. Paid CiteWorth subscribers can connect their own OpenAI API key. Your subscription still controls access to CiteWorth features, limits, and workflows, but provider pass-through OpenAI usage can run through your own OpenAI account where BYOK is enabled. BYOK V1 supports OpenAI first. Free plans do not include BYOK.
